Best practices when sharing a teaser

Personalized messages allow you to differentiate yourself by targeting your messaging, as opposed to simply sending the teaser cold. Our application does allow you to share with multiple recipients at once, but you will find that you are more successful if you tailor each message so that your initial outreach resonates with each specific capital provider.

You may want to:

  • Highlight specific reasons why you believe this deal is a fit for the buyer
  • Discuss overlap between a past deal they’ve closed or an industry sector of focus
  • Note how you’re mutually connected, if applicable
  • For a corporate strategic or platform add-on, specify if you believe the company you’re representing can be a synergistic acquisition

When structuring your message:

  • Be concise and to the point
  • Avoid reiterating information included in the teaser
  • Clearly communicate why your deal is a fit
  • Mention where you found this information (on their Axial profile, website, press release, etc.), especially if it refers to a tombstone.
